Hello all it is 8-11-07, and it is about 9;30pm. I Doug V. aka grandpa majic as some know me will be stepping down as cl. Sometime in the next few days. I wanted each and everyone of you to know that I have enjoyed being a CL on the zone, and I am not stepping down for any particular bad reason. As most of you know my mom has been very ill for some time, And as of a few months back they told us it was down hill from there. I know I still have to go on living when she is gone but there needs to be some personal time spent with her. This is my primary reason for leavin.
My secondary reason for leaving is and I hope this will help the future cls. It is very nerving and upsettng when people know the rules and yet they defile them just because they can. Making duplicate accounts and crashing other peoples jaws, oh and lets not forget spamming lol. These three things were the most nerving to me and I hope that who ever is chosen to follow that you wont do these things.
To the staff I enjoy each and everyone of you -- we have had some laffs and we have had some gripes but I feel the good thing out weigh the bad by alot. If I can be of any assistance just speak the word and I will do what I can. That is for the old and the new staff.
And finally to all my eyes are still available for those image verification words and any other reading that I might be able to assist you with so if you need help I will be around somewhere just hit me up.

I can understand that you will not spend as much time here, but spend a little occasionally, and just say hello.

Douglas, it's been an honor having you as a cl. Take all the time you can with your mom. We will be here for support and everything and are glad you are still going to be around.
Well, I already told you over the phone, but I just wanted to publicly say that it has been a pleasure working with you on here, and to wish you well with both your mother, and in whatever your future brings. I definatly understand your reasons for stepping down.

I just want to echo what the people have said above. You really will be missed, and it's you I have to thank for helping getting me started here on the zone when I didn't have a clue about anything. You were always happy to assist me with any questions I had, and I apreciated your time and effort.
I can fully understand why you have chosen to stand down as your personal life must come first, but it won't lessen the impact of not having you around.

In my opinion, spending what time remains with your mom is more important than almost anything else. You've done an excellent job as a CL, and I hope that you'll stick around in some form.

We've not really spoken a lot in the past, although I was always aware of the fact that you are around, and of the work that you did.
Let me then say that I have a lot of respect for the time and effort you yourself put into the Zone.
For me as a new CL personally, both you and Mel have set very high standards, and i can but try to live up to those standards.
As for your mom, all I can say is, that my prayers are with both of you, and that the time you have to spend with her, is precious, and needs to be made the most of.
On a lighter note, with both you and Mel leaving the staff, that makes me the oldest (in age) staff member! Heh!

Yes I don't think that you'll find anybody on the zone that doesn't respect the effert put into this site/comunity.
duggles. as i have told you many times before. you did an awesome job as a community leader. i know you put up with a bunch of crap. smiles. i also know times have been rough for you and your mom.. you are such a strong person for all that you've done for her. she is a very lucky lady to have such a caring son such as yourself! At least she has one! huh smiles. lots of love to you and your mom. i know it's been a long hall! hang in there! hugs,

Dug: I have to thank you for all you have dun as well. I haven't been around all that long but in what time I have been here, I have been able to tell a lot about you. You have one lucky mom. I hope things get better and start heading back up hill with her. I am happy to provide you any support you might like. Feel free to get my number from me at any time and chat. Thanks to all of you that posted to this sight. Some things with mother have improved such as her breathing. It appears that all five strings of pneumonia are now totally gone. It is still very hard for her to breathe due to this 100+ weather we are having. IT IS CRAZY. Her deminsia is more prevalant nwo and some of my days are going behind her untangleing the tales she tangles.

I know this is late, and I'm sorry for that. but you were a big help to me when I first joined. you and MR. KC8PNL, and all of the other CLS. like others have said, if you need to talk I'm here. and good luck to the new CLS.
